5-log reduction — peer reviewed and published July 2016

A study and testing was performed at the University of Georgia, Department of Food Science and Technology under the direction of Dr. Yen-Con Hung on the patented System developed by Sanist Technologies. The study was peer reviewed and published in the July 2016 / Vol. 81 issue of the Journal of Food Science.

The tests demonstrated the strong antimicrobial synergistic effect of germicidal UV light, activated oxygen and water. A series of tests demonstrated the ability to get into the folded leaves of iceberg and romaine lettuce, achieving a reduction of E. coli O157:H7 by 99.999%.
